Southern Captain Steve Clegg with David McCrae and Syd Jackson. A fourball was played with Steve off 16 and Syd off 11 teamed together. David off 17 and your photographer off 14 won 2 and 1 which was quite a feat as their scores were 35 and 28 respectively, whilst Steve and Syd shot 34 and 32.   On the 1st Steve and Syd struck trouble - see where Syd was for 3. They both had triple-bogeys but David, seen above playing his third which fell short, scored a double-bogey which was good enough for a win for his team.   Steve Clegg on the 5th tee - when he saw this pic on the course he was amazed at his stance. He worked on his swing, had a good back 9 of 22 which was good enough for his team to draw level after 11 which he birdied, but not good enough to win!   Syd hit a nice shot to the 5th green but it trickled over the back and he bogeyed. Your photographer managed to par the hole to put his team 3 up. Syd barely made a putt all day, and when he finally got one to birdie the 15th, your photographer squared the hole to retain his team's lead of 1 up.   David found this large bunker off the 7th tee, exited OK and his bogey was good enough for his team to win the hole and get back to 3 up. David later won 12 with a par and 14 (the hardest hole) with a birdie to go 1 up in both cases (since Steve won 13 with a par) and then 16 to put his team dormie.
